Ordinary day   20.4.20

Ordinary day

What a bore

Nothing exciting

And what's more,

Monday again..

Routine stuff

No time to waste

Jump on the bandwagon

Don't miss the rat race

Though it's definitely slower now..

Have had two cups of coffee

Bright smile in place

But I'm still feeling blah

Sluggish and slow

And let's face it grumpy....

Hmm, get to work

Crikey, these folks!

You can't be serious!!

Cant' put up with them !!

Anymore..

Wonder if Jesus had such days?

Did He squabble and fight?

With His siblings and cousins?

Or was He a model child?

Something to ponder.

Son of God and son of man

Did He understand HIs Father's plan?

At home in Nazareth

with Mary and Joseph

and the carpentry stuff?

When He was a teenager?

Did He rue his birth?

Endure jibes and sarcasm

Did he feel hurt?

hmm...I wonder.

Did He do His chores?

Did He bring in the water?

Did He wash His clothes?

Did He help His mum knead dough?

I guess so...

Down to earth folk

Surrounded Him

Common people's man

And did He shoo them off?

Never..

Did He say

I haven't slept enough?

Or I'm having

A bad hair day?

Guess not.....

So I shake myself

off the ennui

Look around

Finally

People in need

Just like me

Diverse

yet in unity

All of us...

My work just a cog in the wheel

Unglamorous totally unseen

Our names written in history

He sees and that is enough

For me.

High time

I get back to my work

Look beyond the names

On the request forms

Ordinary folk like you and me...

Young ones and old

And in between

And while they

are, in a sense, with me

I pray they'll meet with the God of Eternity.

His grace

Overflows

Like a never ending fountain

On and on it goes...

His saving grace for them and me.
