Jesus Heals the Blind and the Mute
27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Lord,” they replied.
29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” 31 But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.
Matthew 9:29 28.4.20
Mornin' Lord
I'm struggling today.
This Bible verse
Kinda difficult, what do you say?
You healed the blind men
Two to be exact
Said ' as your faith let it be done'
And they saw!! For a fact.
Does that mean
That it's dependent on me
That the outcome is
Solely according to my belief?
There are many times
When prayers go unanswered
Sick not healed
Faith begins to falter.
You also talked
About a mustard seed
That it'd move mountains
And that's ALL the faith I need.
You've sure got
A sense of humour, Lord
Mustard seed and mountain
Now that's far out.
How do you measure faith?
Size or weight?
Is it all in the mind
What do you say?
We've all got problems
No dodging that
Some big some small
Things that put us in a flap.
I'm searching Lord
willing to hear you out
Do some have more faith?
And others, a bit more doubt?
You know why, I doubt
Because many times
The mountain didn't move
The dead didn't come to life.
The circumstance didn't change
The mess didn't resolve
The sickness got worse
And sometimes ended in grief and loss.
Do you have favourites?
Some receive
Just as
Their pleas?
Is it blind faith?
Have we brainwashed ourselves?
Is it our life jacket?
To keep us from drowning in the waves?
But I go to Your Word
Which says You are unfailing
Though things look bleak
You are still working.
So I take my doubts
Confusion and questions
Give it to you
To give me a solution.
You entertained Thomas
Can I then doubt?
That Your unceasing grace
Will run out?
You know my mind
What sheer relief
I can lay down my defenses
Just be me.
So I rest in Your word
Trust in Your plans
'Cause you see the big picture
Far above my myopic glance
So like the disciples
I confess and plead
'Lord, I believe
Help my unbelief'
