Grief 17.4.20
At the outset, let me apologise
For intruding into your life
Grief is private and personal
But also so communicable.
Can I say that I feel your pain?
Not trite words, please let me explain;
No quick fix easy flows
Of rhyming poetry and prose.
Just that I think of you
In solitude
At dawn
When the sky lightens up with the morn.
Also in the noise
Of life
In soft and loud voice
Love and strife.
The long hot days of summer
When memories flood
Changes of season ..the weather
Water and food
To gently remind you again
That you're never forsaken.
For our Father has a special place
Etched on His heart
He'll carry you with His grace,
From Him, you'll never be apart.
