Chronos & Kairos 9.5.20
Time fleeting
The tenses blurring.
How do we mark time?
The relentless ticking?
The boxes on the calendar?
The days quickly slipping?
Days
Short and long
The sun's moving
Over the tropics
Of Cancer
and Capricorn
Amazing
Unfathomable
Our sun
Radiating heat.
We sun ourselves
Dry out clothes
Little do we know
That the light's
been traveling
A long while before.
A light year
Is distance,
Whoa!!
We plant and grow
Fruits and grains
Reap and sow
Seeds and crops.
Chronos time
Days and nights
Following each other
A step behind.
Perfectly synchronised.
We rush headlong
Packed days
Stressful
Activities
a maze.
No stopping
No contemplating
The beauty
of the days
The deafening
Shouting in quiet
Of the
glorious nights.
Enter God
Kairos time
His plans
Purposes
Which stand.
Our lives intersected
Rudely interrupted
We're thrown
off balance
Plans awry
Topsy turvy
Grace sustains.
His strength
Our frame
Lives pieced together
Holy Spirit
The master joiner
When Kairos
Bumps into
Chronos...
Dwell on it
Each isn't exclusive
Our times all His
Wheel within the wheel.
Our God
Timeless
Ageless
Creator of time-
Chose a human tent
To live and die.
Compassion got a face
Forgiveness nameless no more;
Entered our world
From above.
Chronos
Historical divide
On Calvary' s skull
Cruel hillside.
Kairos
Entered
Chronos
Life changing moment
For us
For ever more.
Let the beauty of
His Kairos enter
Our Chronos
To bring
Refreshment
Peace
Chaos turned to order.
Time as we know it
Will cease to exist
In the New Kingdom
Which is to come.
Change our life clocks
To Kairos time
Each moment
Written by the 'I am'
Sure in Him
His ways are good
Every plan
And purpose true.
Kairos time
The best
For me
And
You.
