Breasts 30.4.20
Beautiful twins
Nurturing life
Intoxicate
And delight.
All ages
Squealing child
To a man in love
With his blushing bride.
Shaped gracefully
Master Potter's craft
Not simple beauty
Intricate works of art.
Budding and branching
As a young girl
Emerges as a butterfly
Vibrant and unfurled.
Rivers of milk
Pouring forth
Mysterious chemistry
Complex physiology at work.
Brain neural pathway-
Let down reflex
Baby satiated dozing
Sometimes enough to wash his face!!
Designed to charm
A woman's arsenal
Ogles and leers
But natural.
Today met some women
Under my microscope lens
Five to be exact
Left me sad and spent.
Five different ladies
Ages diverse
Now sisters in suffering
Lives changed for the worse.
Homemakers mothers
Daughters and wives
Some early some late
Crossroad of their lives.
Joined by a common thread
Infiltration
Desmoplasia
Tumour embolization..
What happened?
Why wasn't it caught before?
Did the husband lose interest?
Did she lose her curves and youth
So he wasn't enamored anymore?
Are they lonely together
In their families
Is there no one
For their needs?
Long haul ahead
Who's going to hold them together?
When they're weak with disease
And/or the treatment please?
Will their husbands balk
When they go bald?
Will their children not hug them?
Show some compassion?
When they come- to
After mutilating surgery
Will someone tell them
They're still lovely?
Our sisters these five
And countless others alike
Dear Jesus, give us eyes to see
People like you and me.
We have no edge over them
No modicum of superiority
We sit across them now
A crevasse of feigned sympathy.
Your love and life
Healing poured freely
At the cross
From Your agony.
Wounds and stripes
You received
For our ravaged lives
All our sickness and disease.
We pray for them
And ourselves
That we speak to them
Perhaps give an embrace
Let them know
They're loved by Him
He's with them
In their suffering.
Stands waiting
Arms open wide
And they'll be made whole
Complete with new life.
