Tree trunk. 6.7.20 (A story around a dead mango tree) Strongly rooted Deep in the earth 'twas dead No fruits No leaves For years. Mossy green Easy to climb Folks from here say The mangoes were Giant size. Put up a good fight Tug of war The juggernaut won Engine roaring The tree trunk fell The roots out Their space now Deep and raw. Four feet across Came down with a crash Roots thick and long Some still stuck fast Beautiful it'd have been In its prime Leaves red and green Bird calls in time, Children's laughter Shady boughs Luscious fruit Mouth's begun To water.. Those feet Quick climbing Nimbly clambering Wresting the fruit From the greedy parrots Have also aged Hair thinner And gray.. If that tree Could talk There'd be No end to the stories Yarns embroidered Reliving it's days Of glory Reduced to a stump Log of wood But one day When the earth's Rebirthed We'll see...

Seasons give way One to another Grasses spring up Flowers bloom Droop and fall, wither Through it all The notes the same Unforced rhythms of grace. Fields ploughed Sown Crops of green Harvest bounty His supply His plenty Melody in the air Unforced rhythms of grace. The Word Became flesh Kingship and Majesty He forsook Remained true Mission to save Unforced rhythms of grace. Friend of the Lonely and the lost Shady dealers Tax collectors Society's outcasts Those with a past He freely gave Outpouring of Unforced rhythms of grace. Willingly suffered Died was crucified Your place and mine Endured agony Shame and pain Rose from the grave Triumphant song Unforced rhythms of grace. Even today If we'll stop to listen W...

I shall not be moved Hope is my anchor The storms are blowing Waves tossing Hither and thither He's here In the here and now I look up to the hills My Helper is my Maker He knows my name I am His.. The clock ticking Work, I must, This is my gift My present 'Thank you dear Lord Father, Friend and Comf...

Light a candle in my heart 15.8.2024 Light a candle in my heart This evening hour To remember a life snuffed out By strength and power Who heard her screams? As she was mauled and killed Who came to her help Before her blood was spilled.. The blame game begins The scapegoat is caught Demonstrations, placards Protests –explanations are sought.. The hard life of an Indian junior Doctor Harder for the girls Long hours, sleepless nights Along with exams, all a whirl.. Lonely dark corridors Lust hiding in the corner The devil rubbing his hands in glee This is his moment, his hour!! When will this end? When will we awake? That ‘viksit Bharat’ is a sham That our country is in disgrace… We’ve lost a daughter Another one bites the dust A horror story played out No more ‘ladies first…’ Can we be bold and own up That change has to start with us Our sons, our students, our neighbourhoods Shout this out, mak...

Ordinary day 20.4.20 Ordinary day What a bore Nothing exciting And what's more, Monday again.. Routine stuff No time to waste Jump on the bandwagon Don't miss the rat race Though it's definitely slower now.. Have had two cups of coffee Bright smile in place But I'm still feeling blah Sluggish and slow And let's face it grumpy.... Hmm, get to work Crikey, these folks! You can't be serious!! Cant' put up with them !! Anymore.. Wonder if Jesus had such days? Did He squabble and fight? With His siblings and cousins? Or was He a model child? Something to ponder. Son of God and son of man Did He understand HIs Father's plan? At home in Nazareth with Mary and Joseph and the carpentry stuff? When He was a teenager? Did He rue his birth? Endure jibes and sarcasm Did he feel hurt? hmm...I wonder. Did He do His chores? Did He bring in the water? Did He wash His clothes? Did He help His mum knead dough? I guess so... Down to earth folk Surr...
